French Brittanys Puppies and Planned Litters

French Brittanys Puppies Peering Through a DoghouseFrench Brittanys - Too Cute

Our French Brittanys are purchased from breeders in the U.S. as well as imported from Ireland and France. We continue to breed for better dogs and purchase animals that will improve our breeding stock.

We are committed to maintaining the purity of this fantastic breed of hunting dog!

In order to be considered for breeding French Brittanys, our dogs must meet some very important criteria. Their health must be as perfect as can be determined. Hips are x-rayed, and must be approved for breeding by either OFA or PennHip. Second, their temperament must reflect the standards of the breed and be the kind of animal you want in your home as well as in the field. Lastly, they must prove themselves on a variety of wild birds. A very important part of our program is to encourage the natural retrieving ability of these little dogs. Believe me, they are fantastic at the retrieve as well as the point.

Our puppies are sold with a health guarantee against any genetic defect and are micro-chipped for your protection. We would like to place them with you between their seventh and eighth week of age. At this age, they will have had two of their set of three puppy shots, and you will need to provide the last. Our Epagneul Bretons are pure French Brittany stock available to be registered with AKC and UKC.

We do not believe "pick of the litter" means a whole lot. A good example, with our last litter, we decided to keep a female pup to train and possibly add to our breeding stock. We let everyone else choose their dog and we kept the one that was not chosen. She is fantastic. At eight months, she points with the intensity of her mother and retrieves like her dad. She will be a wonderful hunting dog and if she continues to show these abilities, we plan to breed her when she is mature enough. Tell us what you are looking for in your pup and we will find a match for you. Or, come visit us and pick for yourself.

In an effort to satisfy the increased demand for our puppies we are planning three litters for 2013.  All females will be bred after December 2012 with litters coming late winter or early spring of 2013.  Trovato will be the sire of all these planned litters with dams being Ginger, Dia, and Taza or Laka.  We only take reservations for six puppies per litter and they are going fast.

We are very excited about these new puppies and we currently have offspring running in field trails in Texas, Montana, and Minnesota.  We have two puppies here that will celebrate their first hunting season this year and they have been fantastic during their training.  I can't wait to get them in the wild bird fields this season.  Give us a call or email and let's talk dogs!
